For Sale at Auction: 1947 Buick Roadmaster in Williams, Iowa for sale in Williams, IA

1 of 1
Vehicle Description 1947 Buick Roadmaster Convertible.
As with many of the immediate domestic postwar vehicles, the Buick Roadmaster changed little from 1946.
When postwar automobile production resumed in the 1946 model year, chrome was more sparingly applied, swept-back fenders were fitted to sedans as well as coupes, and a war-inspired bombsight hood ornament was adopted.
The instrument panel was two-toned with woodgrain facings except on convertibles which used body-colored panels.
The convertible top and front windows on this Buick are hydraulically operated and the car sports original paint and interior.
Only 38,000 miles have been recorded on the car's odometer and the car looks much the same as it was when Daryl Hemken purchased the car from a couple in Des Moines on December 22, 1965.
The couple said they had just sold their blue house which matched the Buick's blue, so they had to sell the car because they couldn't bear to look at it.
This convertible is powered by a nicely running Fireball 320ci straight 8, with 144 horsepower.
The 3-speed column shift transmission makes for a comfortably managed road auto.
